Whole House FAQs

31How many open-and-close cycles are your hinges and runners rated for?
Quality branded hinges and drawer runners are typically tested to [50,000–200,000] cycles, which corresponds to roughly 15–20 years of normal household use. Cheap unbranded fittings may fail within a few thousand cycles. We specify the tested rating in the quotation and recommend matching the hardware life to the expected life of the cabinetry, not to the lowest quote.

32What warranty applies to hardware?
Hardware carries the manufacturer's warranty, typically [5–10] years for branded fittings, in addition to our own warranty on the cabinetry. Because hardware is a wear item, we also stock common replacement parts — hinges, runners, lift mechanisms — so a single worn fitting years later does not mean replacing a door or a drawer box.

33Can I upgrade hardware, or specify my own brand?
Both. You can upgrade within our range or nominate a specific brand and model, and we will machine the panels to suit and quote the hardware as a separate line item so you see exactly what you are paying for. For clients with an existing showroom standard, matching that specification is usually straightforward.

34How is custom cabinetry priced — by square metre, projected area or per unit?
We quote per item against the approved shop drawing, with a clear breakdown of carcass, doors, hardware, accessories, packing and freight. Per-square-metre or projected-area pricing looks simple but hides the variables that actually drive cost: internal fittings, door style and hardware. Our quotations are itemised precisely so you can compare properly and adjust scope knowingly.

35What is included in the quote, and what counts as an extra?
Our quotation lists carcass, doors, standard hardware, edge banding, packing and (if agreed) freight. Common extras are premium hardware, glass doors, LED lighting, pull-out organisers, special finishes, and countertops. We flag these on the drawing rather than after production — the goal is that nothing appears on your final invoice that you have not already approved.

36Do you charge a design fee, and is it refundable?
A design fee of [amount] covers measurement review, layout design and 3D renderings. It is [fully credited against / waived for] confirmed orders, because we would rather invest in serious projects than give away free drawings. You keep the drawings either way, so you can price them locally if you decide not to proceed.

37Can you work within my budget?
Yes, if the budget is stated at the start. We design to a target by adjusting what genuinely affects cost — board grade, door finish, hardware tier and accessory count — while keeping the structural specification intact. Tell us your number and your priorities, and we will propose a scheme that meets it instead of quoting high and discounting later.

38Why is your price different from a local carpenter’s?
A local carpenter cuts on site with limited finishing capability; we produce in a controlled factory with CNC accuracy, factory-cured finishes, tested hardware and engineered moisture control. That changes the result in edge quality, colour consistency and dimensional accuracy over a 30–45 day shipment. The comparison that matters is cost per year of service, not cost per cabinet on day one.

39Are cabinets shipped flat-packed or assembled?
Most export orders ship flat-packed (KD) because it roughly halves the volume, cuts freight cost substantially and protects panels better in transit. Assembled carcasses are available for projects where site labour is expensive or a showroom needs ready units. Flat-pack is not a compromise: CNC drilling means panels align precisely and assembly is straightforward with the supplied fittings.

40Will panels get damaged during a long sea shipment?
Export packing is designed for this: reinforced cartons, EPE foam and corner protection, protective film on glossy and painted faces, hardware in separate labelled bags, and palletising where required. Cartons are labelled by room and unit so the site team can unpack in installation order. Transit damage is rare and is handled under our [claims process] with photos and packing list.

41How much does shipping cost, and can you ship to my country?
We ship to [list of markets] by sea, with FOB, CIF or DDP terms. Freight depends on volume, destination port and season, so we quote it against your actual loading plan rather than an estimate. Share your port or delivery address and we will return a landed-cost comparison between terms, which usually shows DDP is simplest for first-time importers.

42Who installs the cabinets overseas?
Normally your local installer, using our numbered parts, assembly drawings and installation manual. For larger projects we join the installation remotely via video and can send a technician where volume justifies the trip. The key to a smooth install is labelling: every carton is marked by room and unit so panels arrive in the sequence the installer needs them.

43What if a panel arrives damaged or a part is missing?
Photograph the carton and the panel, note it on the delivery receipt, and send both to us with the carton number. We identify the item from the packing list and ship a replacement on the next available shipment, or from stock where urgency requires. For project orders we recommend including a small spare-parts allowance in the original container.

44Do you provide assembly instructions and numbered parts?
Yes. Every cabinet panel carries a discreet label matching the shop drawing, and each order ships with assembly instructions, a hardware schedule and a packing list cross-referenced to room and unit. This is what allows a local installer who has never seen the project to build it correctly. It also makes later re-ordering or repair straightforward.

45Do you support hotel, apartment and villa developer projects?
Yes. We supply multi-unit residential, hotel and serviced-apartment programs, producing to a unit-by-unit schedule with cartons labelled by apartment and room, and loading containers in installation sequence. We provide shop drawings, material submittals and sample units for approval, and can hold a repeat specification on file for phased handovers.
