How do I clean and maintain painted or veneered wooden doors?

Wipe with a soft, slightly damp cloth and a mild pH-neutral cleaner, then dry immediately. Avoid abrasive pads, solvent cleaners and excess water, especially on edges and around the lock. Check and lightly lubricate hinges once a year, and tighten hinge screws if the door starts to drop. Re-coating is rarely needed for factory-finished doors in normal residential use.
